Elisabeth in TX - Testimonial

I was diagnosed with AVN at the beginning of June 2009.Basically the Doctors Physician Assitant was very blunt and said you have Ostheonecrosis of your knee and your bone is dying. There is nothing we can do about it.

Naturally I freaked out and started looking on the Internet about answers. This is how I found the AVN Support Group International. What a relief just knowing there are other people with the same fears and questions. Since coming here I have recieved a lot of answers and support. No matter how minor or off topic my questions where. It is true that at the beginning reading other posts I wondered about how bad it can get. For a few days I was kind of frightened. Can I get it in other joints that are hurting? But then I calmed down while reading more information and realized that we are all different and have different experiences.

I appreciate all of the members questions and answers. Those who had or have much more pain and problems than me. Their determination to carry on and find the best doctors and help for others.I also appreciate Mark's comments as he has a way of being to the point and direct. I like that. Also just knowing the facts instead of wondering and guessing has a calming effect. Thanks to all who are responsible for keeping this site running.
