Sue - NJ Testimonial
I had 2 TKR when I was 50, so my problem was different. On the doctor's desk I saw the sign that said ask about TKR minimal replacement surgery. He explained that my progression of the AVN I was not able to have that kind of surgery. If you are familiar with my story it took me 8 doctors before I found one who could do the surgery.
I was flat out told by one doctor that "as a surgeon there is nothing I can do for you". Yup, as well as a top notch oncologist ortho of a school in NJ, just wasting my time by not saying what was wrong, and just X-raying me every 6 weeks. Talk about tears -- and I went to each visit on my own, I had no one to help or advise me. Lo and behold, when I finally met my surgeon, and he explained what I had, I found this group! Thank God for that! I had spent months before Googling bone infarcts, as that is the only info I had originally.
Good luck and just find another opinion if you [wish], as Marie always says "we are our own best advocate"!
Hugs and prayers,
